Canine Lyme disease
Prevention
Canine Lyme disease is largely preventable through a comprehensive tick-borne disease prevention program, including vaccination. Vaccination, as a preventive tool, is highly recommended in endemic Lyme disease areas. Talk to your veterinarian about vaccinating with a Lyme vaccine.
In expansion and isolated areas, where exposure to Lyme disease is dependant on lifestyle, ask your veterinarian about your dog's risk factors. Where there is higher exposure, she may recommend a full tick prevention program, including vaccination.
