Lyme borreliosis

Lyme Disease

Canine Lyme disease or Lyme borreliosis is a bacterial disease transmitted by the bite of an infected Ixodes tick harboring the Borrelia burgdorferi spirochete, a corkscrew-shaped bacterium. Humans can get Lyme disease as well, but only from the bite of an infected tick. People cannot get Lyme disease from their dogs.
